Dry Hot Heat ends the weekend, before rain returns

Rain chances remain for the entire work week

After another day of temperatures above average in the 90s, the evening temperatures will remain mild in the 70s with light winds coming from the west, dry air, and mostly clear skies.

You might feel a light sprinkle along the coast due to the sea breeze but overall rain is not in the forecast.

Afternoon temperatures stayed in the upper 90s, with places like Mayport peaking at 99 degrees with a feel of 101.

TONIGHT

Temperatures will drop into the mid-70s with a light wind coming from the west with partly cloudy skies. This would’ve been a good evening for clear skies to help increase a cool down but that won’t happen.

MONDAY

Monday temperatures will still be in the low 70s and increase quickly into the 80s, before peaking in the the mid to upper 90s. Rain chances begin in the early afternoon. The sea breeze and overall instability will instigate storms through the early evening along the coast for Southeast Georgia and for the southern counties of Northeast Florida. Rain accumulation is expected to be less than a tenth of an inch for Monday’s totals.

LOOKING AHEAD

Rain chances increase from 20 percent on Monday to nearly 50 percent by Wednesday.
