It includes everything from pet food and portable radios to batteries and generators.

Some items you might not think about right away when it comes to hurricane supplies like tarps and even pet medication.

If you need some extra help building your disaster kit, Farm Share is hosting a Hurricane supply event on Saturday. It’s going to be at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds.

Five thousand families will receive a hurricane kit with food, a can opener, water, socks and other items.

If you have a pet, there is also a pet supply kit and it’s all free.

The event starts at 9 a.m. and will run until supplies run out.
