Positively JAX: RichHER Foundation helping women reach their full potential

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – May’s Positively JAX winner wears many different hats. A mom, a history-making athletic director and just this year she started a nonprofit focused on women. The RichHER Foundation is just getting started helping women reach their full potential.

Dr. Ivana Rich is right where she wants to be. She made history two years ago as the first female athletic director of Edward Waters University but there was a lot more work inside of her.

“I’m really internally a service-oriented individual, like I live to serve others. I consider myself to be a servant leader. Always have been,” said Rich.

This past January she started The RichHER Foundation to champion women while helping them to reach their full potential.

“The RichHER Foundation is centered around women’s empowerment, education, and mentorship and we also have a service component,” said Rich.

Rich launched her foundation in January 2024 and it’s already touched 350 women through self-defense, yoga and mindfulness classes, even teaching women to take control of their car care.

She’s motivated by her parents, her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the vision to understand and fill the gaps where women are sometimes lacking. Also, someone else holds her accountable to practice what she preaches, her 7-year-old daughter.

“I also have a young daughter and she loves it. When I tell you when she sees me out in the community and making videos and showing what I’m doing, she absolutely loves it. And, you know, I want to be an inspiration to her as well as other young women,” said Rich.

Rich is just getting started with a new nonprofit that’s already making a Positively JAX difference, and we’re glad she calls Jacksonville home.
