JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A local entrepreneur accused of scamming her clients with misleading investment opportunities is reopening a credit repair office on Jacksonville’s Southside.
Janay White made the announcement on social media this week. She also posted an apology video asking the community for forgiveness — all while she’s facing multiple fraud lawsuits.
“I did just want to come on here and apologize to everyone that saw that,” White said in the video.

Calling her behavior “out of character,” White apologized to her Facebook followers for a video she posted in 2023 where she said, “Y’all not getting your money back.”
“Everybody who I hurt, everybody who thought I was wrong, I’m not above ridicule clearly, I’m not above making mistakes. I’m human,” White said in the video.
After apologizing, White then advertised her new credit office and asked her followers for money “up front” for repair services.
It’s the first time in three months she’s posted on social media after her clients came forward to the News4JAX I-TEAM with allegations of fraud and bad business practices.
Rayvon Griffin is one of those clients. She’s currently suing White after she said she lost $22,000 investing in her services.
“You say you’re sorry, but you’re laughing. You’re saying an apology, but in the same breath, you’re asking for money from the same community that you stole from your advertising your services, you’re twisting the story to make it seem like you just hit a financial bump and this was just, you know, a lapse of judgment,” Griffin said.
On Friday, News4JAX visited the J White Business Center on Dunn Avenue, and it looked to be closed down with nothing and no one inside. At that location, White offered credit repair services and also offered real estate mentorship and Airbnb investment programs.
Griffin is working together with Buddy Wilson to hold White accountable for the money they said she stole from them, leading a Facebook group warning others about getting involved with White.
They have a record of more than 100 people in and outside of Jacksonville who also say they have nothing to show for their investments.
“It’s over $1.5 million. That’s not including losses occurred afterwards,” Wilson said.
Wilson is planning a protest with dozens of other victims outside of the Duval County courthouse on March 13 calling for White to be arrested.
“It’s very important that we keep public pressure and make sure that they listen. This has been getting reported to local, state and federal authorities for three years now,” Wilson said. “We need to exercise our right we need to make sure that they’re listening and that they deal with the situation in a timely manner.”
Griffin said their lives have been ruined “in so many different ways.”
“We deserve the restitution that we deserve. Give the people their money back,” Griffin said.
JSO has received complaints relating to White and her various businesses. Wilson said at least 50 police reports have been filed.
News4JAX reached out to White for comment on this story but she has not returned our calls.
