Gov. DeSantis touts sales tax holiday as hurricane season gets underway in Florida

Gov. Ron DeSantis held a news conference on Tuesday morning at a Home Depot store in Fort Myers.

The news conference included Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie and Florida Senate President Kathleen Passidomo.

The news conference comes as hurricane season is now underway in Florida, along with the state’s Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday.

The holiday continues through June 14 and allows Florida residents to save on sales tax for hurricane supplies.

DeSantis touted the benefits of the holiday and encouraged all Florida residents to be prepared.
