JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – First Coast No More Homeless Pets (FCNMHP), a Jacksonville animal welfare organization, announced it is starting renovations to its Norwood facility this summer. The renovations at FCNMHP’s Norwood facility will increase the organization’s capacity to care for pets and to provide Spay/Neuter services.
Construction is expected to be completed by 2026.

On Monday, some changes to operations were put in place to accommodate construction. Veterinary care for pets will be relocated to FCNMHP’s Cassat regional safety-net veterinary hospital located at 464 Cassat Avenue in Jacksonville. The Norwood clinic will continue to operate all Spay/Neuter services including those for community cats throughout the renovation process, and clients will be notified when veterinary services will be available at the Norwood facility.
Renovations include:
- The construction of separate cat and dog entrances to reduce stress to pets and clients.
- Additional parking to meet the needs of clients.
- Larger spaces within the veterinary clinic to allow veterinary staff to maximize space and increase capacity for surgery and exams.
- A separate wing for community cats brought in by volunteer trappers and animal rescue organizations for TNR efforts.
- Separate isolation units for cats and dogs who may be contagious.
