JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Creekside used a ferocious comeback in the final 10 minutes to earn a spot in the girls soccer state championship game.

The Knights scored a pair of second-half goals on Thursday, the winner by Alanna Maki in the 76th minute, to send them on to Saturday’s Class 7A state championship game against Boca Raton (18-2-2) at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand.

Creekside (15-1-2) is ranked No. 4 in the country by MaxPreps while Boca Raton is No. 13.

The Knights got on the board with under 10 minutes to play on a remarkable sequence. A free kick from the other side of the field wound up near the box and Lily Paisant headed it into the net to even things up.

Creekside has been in the state championship game once before, a 3-1 win over Cypress Bay in 2022. The Knights and rival Bartram Trail have combined to win the last four state championships in Florida’s highest classification.
