The Sharks used a pair of second-half goals and pulled away from East Lake to win the Class 6A state championship on Saturday morning at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand.

Hadley Conway, Jenny Dearie and Elle Anderson found the net for the Sharks (23-1-1) as they pushed past East Lake to cement their spot in history. Ponte Vedra has four state championships, all under iconic coach Dave Silverberg. The Sharks won a crown in their first year of existence in 2009 and Silverberg has continued building the program in the years since.

This season, Ponte Vedra added some offensive punch to go along with its defensive muscle. Dearie, Natalie Brooks and Lily Morse proved too challenging for opponents to slow down. Brooks had a hat trick in the semifinal win over Aquinas. On Saturday, it was Dearie and Anderson scoring three minutes apart in the 52nd and 55th minutes to push things too far out of reach for East Lake.
