JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The News4JAX Super 6 high school baseball rankings will be published each Friday during the regular season. Records are through March 7 games.

1. (1) St. Johns Country Day (6-0, Class 2A)
Notable wins: Buchholz, Florida High, North Florida Christian, Thomasville (Ga.), West Nassau.
Glance: The Spartans and coach Tom Lucas are off to a great start. They clipped Columbia (4-3) and then drummed West Nassau (10-0) since our last Super 6. A talented Clay team is up next on Friday night. They’ve got three regulars (Collin Briggs, James Gilson, Kolt Myers) hitting .389 or better. Kyle Boylston isn’t far behind (.333) and has belted a couple homers. Once stars like Kody Daneault and Seth Alford heat up, this team is going to be rocking.
2. (3) Trinity Christian (4-1, Class 3A)
Notable wins: Lowndes (Ga.), Mill Creek.
Glance: The Conquerors are rolling, with wins over Lambert, Ga. (7-1), Buford, Ga. (12-1) and reigning 7A Peach State stae champ Lowndes, Ga. (5-4) since our last Super 6. They’ve won four straight entering a Friday game against Wolfson. Aiden Arnett (.667) is leading the Conquerors.
3. (2) Providence (4-2, Class 3A)
Notable wins: Creekside, University Christian, Wolfson.
Glance: The Stallions lost to Chelsea, Ala. (3-0), then bounced back with wins over Peachtree Ridge, Ga. (8-4) and Creekside (11-6) since our last Super 6. They’re back in action on Friday night against Tocoi Creek. Nick Oliveira (.476), Andrew Johnson (.375), Nick Nuualiitia (.333) and Mason Wortmann (.300) are powering the Providence sticks.
4. (6) First Coast (5-0, Class 5A)
Notable wins: Mandarin, Wolfson.
Glance: Just one game since our last Super 6, a 3-1 win over Creekside. A Friday game against Santa Fe rounds out the week. The Buccaneers and reigning player of the year Hunter Carns are worth getting out to a catching a glimpse of this season. First Coast is the Gateway Conference frontrunner. The schedule thus far gives me a little pause in moving First Coast up too high.
5. (NR) Bolles (5-2, Class 3A)
Notable wins: Oxford (Ala.), Yulee.
Glance: Back and forth on this spot, with Clay and Englewood also in the conversation. But the Bulldogs’ win over Oxford (2-0), the reigning Class 7A state champ from Alabama was the separator. That team went 37-7 last year. Bolles lost to Parkview, Ga. (8-5) and Montverde (5-3), teams who are a combined 14-3. The Bulldogs bounce back with a 19-4 clobbering of a solid Yulee. Was disappointed to see a Tuesday game against Englewood rained out. The Rams were slated to be honored on the 25th anniversary of their 1999 state championship. Current Bolles coach Mike Boswell was the Rams’ coach then. Among regulars, Jackson Geist (.450) leads the way. On the bump, Chayce Kieck is a machine (2-0, 18 Ks, 16.2 IP, 0.00 ERA).
6. (4) Bishop Kenny (4-1, Class 4A)
Notable wins: Fernandina Beach, St. Joseph, Tocoi Creek.
Glance: The Crusaders dropped a 3-1 game to Oakleaf since our last Super 6, but they hang on in the rankings this week ahead of Englewood. Wins over better-than-they-look teams in Fernandina Beach, St. Joseph and Tocoi Creek keep them in.
