1. (1) Episcopal (4-4, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Creekside, Gulf Breeze.

Glance: Not the best of weeks for the Eagles, who went 1-2 since our last Super 6. They beat Holton-Arms, a team out of Maryland, handily (16-9). They sandwiched that win around losses to St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Virginia) and Lake Highland Prep. No shame in either of those defeats. The Highlanders, who won 16-8, were the state runner-up last year. The Saints, who beat the Eagles 10-9 in double OT, were a state semifinalist a year ago. Quality of competition matters. Episcopal’s other losses are to Plant and Hagerty, teams who are a combined 17-1.

2. (2) Bartram Trail (4-1, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Nease, Oviedo, Ponte Vedra.

Glance: The Bears beat Nease 21-4 in their lone game since our last Super 6. They’ve got a tough, tough week ahead starting with a St. Thomas Aquinas team that it beat 5-4 for the state championship last year. On Tuesday, they visit 7-0 Delray Beach American Heritage. Reigning All-News4JAX player of the year Ryann Frechette has 26 goals with Emily Barnette right behind with 18.

3. (4) Creekside (8-2, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Cherokee (Ga.), Fleming Island, Gulf Breeze, Oviedo, St. Augustine, Tocoi Creek, Winter Park.

Glance: Great week for the Knights, who beat Tocoi Creek (17-11) and Buchholz (15-4). The win over the Toros was high quality. Creekside is off for Spring Break before returning against Bolles on March 20.. Natalie Charyak continues her torrid season. She’s up to 48 goals and 10 assists. Hailey Josleyn (17 goals, 17 assists), Olivia Bittencourt (15 goals, 13 assists) and Regan Bayly (13 goals, 8 assists) are also having strong seasons for Creekside.

4. (3) Ponte Vedra (4-5, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Nease, Oak Hall, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: Was really looking forward to seeing how the Sharks handled a solid Tocoi Creek. They did and did it very well, winning 18-11. As mentioned above, schedules matter. Ponte Vedra’s record isn’t the prettiest but its losses are to blue chip programs (Aquinas, Bartram Trail, Lake Highland Prep and Tampa Plant).

5. (5) Tocoi Creek (7-3, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Bolles, Fleming Island, Menendez, St. Augustine.

Glance: The Toros went 1-2 since our last Super 6, losing to area teams in front of them in the rankingd (Creekside 17-11 and Ponte Vedra (18-11). Those aren’t bad losses whatsoever. Tocoi Creek is still building a program and building it well. Stepping up in competition is bound to create some learning experiences. Sophomore Ashley Cotter cis up to 55 goals and 18 assists. Riley Cronin follows with 18 goals.

6. (6) Fleming Island (4-2, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Gainesville, Menendez.

Glance: One win for the Golden Eagles since our last Super 6, a 14-2 rout of Flagler Palm Coast. They’re back in action after Spring Break with a March 19 game against Providence.

Others

Beachside (4-2, Class 1A); Bolles (3-5, Class 1A); Mandarin (6-1, Class 2A); Menendez (5-4, Class 1A); Nease (4-4, Class 2A); Providence (3-1, Class 1A), St. Augustine (3-5, Class 1A).
