1. (1) St. Johns Country Day (8-1, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Buchholz, Clay, Flagler Palm Coast, Florida High, North Florida Christian, Thomasville (Ga.), West Nassau.

Glance: The Spartans went 2-1 since our last Super 6, annihilating once-ranked Clay (17-3) and Flagler Palm Coast (5-1) and losing to IMG Academy (3-0). They’ve got a solid Oakleaf up next week followed by Buchholz. St. Johns is the area’s best team by a good margin. Collin Briggs, James Gilson and Nick Bowden are all hitting over .400.

2. (2) Trinity Christian (7-1, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Lowndes (Ga.), Mill Creek.

Glance: The Conquerors blasted their three opponents since our last Super 6, drilling Wolfson (12-0), Santa Fe (10-0) and defending Class 4A state champ North Marion (12-2). They have Providence and Ponte Vedra on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Aiden Arnett (.556) and Gage Petrutz (.429) are leading the way for Trinity.

3. (5) Bolles (8-3, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Montverde, Oxford (Ala.), Yulee.

Glance: Good week for the Bulldogs, who atoned for an earlier loss to Montverde with a 1-0 win in nine innings as part of a 3-1 week since our last Super 6. They beat one IMG Academy team and lost to another Ascenders squad. Bartram Trail on Wednesday is next for the Bulldogs. Chayce Kieck is hitting .400 to lead Bolles at the plate.

4. (NR) Tocoi Creek (7-2, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Beachside, Christ’s Church, Father Lopez, Providence.

Glance: The Toros have won six straight and had two quality Ws since last week, a 6-1 win over Providence and a 3-0 win over Father Lopez. Tocoi Creek visits Episcopal on Tuesday in a good one. Andy Lemaster (.360) and Mikey Bergamo (.357) are leading the Toros at the plate.

5. (NR) Fleming Island (6-2, Class 6A)

Notable wins: Flagler Palm Coast, Knoxville Central (Tenn.), McMinn County (Tenn.), Tocoi Creek.

Glance: It’s a little bit of a weird position for these last two spots. A tough call this week on moving out Providence. But the Stallions struggled against local teams (Bishop Snyder and Tocoi Creek). The Golden Eagles make their debut this season after a three-game winning streak. Their lone regional loss is to a very good Gainesville Buchholz team. The other defeat is to 9-0 Bozeman. Declan Dunleavy (.385) is leading Fleming.

6. (6) Bishop Kenny (5-2, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Fernandina Beach, St. Joseph, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: Another spot I struggled in this week. Kenny lost to Buchholz (1-0) but crushed defending 4A state champ North Marion (14-1) since our last Super 6. Buchholz is very good, so I don’t ding them too much for that loss. Bishop Snyder and Episcopal were both in the conversation this week, but their schedules haven’t been as difficult. So, the Crusaders stay put.
