JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The fourth annual Rivalry on the River high school lacrosse event is in the books, with area teams shining over the two days of action.

Super 6 No. 1 team Bolles saw its perfect season end in a 10-9 loss to South Carolina power Lucy Beckham in the final match of the event on Saturday night. It was redemption for the Bengals who lost an 11-9 thriller to Bolles in last year’s Rivalry showdown. They went on to win their next seven games and the Class 4A state title.

For the Bulldogs (14-1) it was their first loss since a 9-8 defeat to Saint Andrew’s in the Class 1A championship game in 2023.

Among area boys Super 6 teams, only fifth-ranked Nease managed a win. The Panthers handled Maclay 15-6.

For the girls, No. 2 Bartram Trail used a flurry of offense from Ryann Frechette and Emily Barnette to beat No. 4 Ponte Vedra 17-8. For Frechette, the reigning All-News4JAX player of the year, she notched career goal No. 400 in the win.
