1. (1) Fleming Island (12-0, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Clay, Middleburg, New Smyrna Beach, Ocala Forest, Paxon, Stanton.

Glance: The Golden Eagles have answered all challenges this season. Since last week, the blasted Riverside (43-0) and edged previously unbeaten Clay (14-7) to wrap up the regular season perfect. They’ve been wire-to-wire No. 1 in the Super 6 the last two years. And they’ll once again be a contender to reach the state final four. London Jenkins has 1,090 yards from scrimmage and 21 offensive TDs. On defense, she’s got nine interceptions. Fleming isn’t as high powered on the offensive side of the ball this season (they had 374 points in 12 games last year compared to 244 this year) but the Golden Eagles haven’t forgotten how to win. They’re just doing it differently this year with a stronger defense and it’s working like a charm.

2. (6) White (10-3, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Fletcher, Mandarin, Raines, Sandalwood, Stanton.

Glance: The Commanders beat previous No. 2 Stanton (7-6) and then a quality Mandarin (13-0) since our last Super 6. They’re in the Gateway Conference semis next against Stanton. QB Tyra Pierce (10 passing TDs, 9 rushing TDs, 2 receiving TDs) is the leader for White. She and Kyra Jackson both have eight interceptions to lead the defense.

3. (3) Paxon (10-2, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Atlantic Coast, Raines, Sandalwood, Stanton.

Glance: Two quality Ws for the Golden Eagles in the Gateway Conference tournament since our last Super 6, beating quality teams in Atlantic Coast (34-0) and Sandalwood (28-14). They’ve got Fletcher next in what should be a good one. The Senators smothered Paxon’s offense 27-0 in their meeting last month.

4. (4) Clay (7-1, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Middleburg, Orange Park, Sandalwood, Santa Fe, Yulee.

Glance: The Blue Devils went 2-1 since our last Super 6, belting a solid Santa Fe (52-0) and Ridgeview (14-0) and losing to No. 1 Fleming (14-7). Those two touchdowns scored by Fleming are the only points allowed all season by the Blue Devils. They wrap up the regular season against Florida Deaf on Thursday.

5. (5) Fletcher (7-2, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Paxon, Sandalwood.

Glance: The Senators have won four straight since a 7-6 loss to White last month. They routed Sandalwood 33-12 in the Gateway Conference quarters. They’ve got No. 2 Paxon up next in the semifinals. They pounded Paxon 27-0 in their last meeting.

6. (2) Stanton (7-3, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Atlantic Coast, Fletcher, Yulee.

Glance: The Blue Devils lost to White (7-6) since our last Super 6 and then beat Raines. Up next is White again in the Gateway Conference semis. Can the Blue Devils get over the Commanders hurdle and reach the conference final?
