1. (1) St. Johns Country Day (19-5, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Baldwin, Bishop Kenny, Bolles, Buchholz, Calvary Day (Ga.), Chaparral (Ariz.), Clay, Creekside, Flagler Palm Coast, Fleming Island, Florida High, North Florida Christian, Providence, Thomasville (Ga.), West Nassau, Yulee.

Glance: Since our last update, St. Johns crushed three teams who have been Super 6 teams for all or part of the season. The Spartans drilled Bishop Kenny (11-1), edged Creekside (4-3) and handled Bolles (7-1). They are the No. 1 seed for the District 2-2A tournament and should cruise through that. Nick Bowden (.404, 2 HR, 14 RBI), James Gilson (.371, 3 HR, 19 RBI) and Kolt Myers (.318. 19 RBI) lead St. Johns. This team could get coach Tom Lucas a state championship.

2. (2) Trinity Christian (19-6, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Apex Friendship (NC), Baldwin, Buchholz, Calvary Day (Ga.), Chiles, Clay, Lowndes (Ga.) twice, Mill Creek, Providence, Viera.

Glance: The Conquerors went 1-1 since our last Super 6 and sputtered a bit over the past month. They lost to Oakleaf (3-1) and then bounced back for a quality W over Chiles (8-5). Are those losses something to worry about? Yes and no. Trinity is 3-5 over the past two weeks, but a bit of grading on a curve due to the ups and downs of that time. That included a trip to the National High School Invitational, and then a return where it lost to three local teams in University Christian, Creekside and Oakleaf. Brady Harris (.385, 2 HR, 2 RBI) is back and in synch. Gage Petrutz (.429, HR), Aiden Arnett (.392, 2 HR, 22 RBI), Brady Harris (.370, 12 RBI, 2 HR) and Brayden Harris (.375, 11 RBI) lead the Conquerors, who are seeded No. 1 for the District 2-3A tourney and a likely collision against red-hot Bishop Snyder in the final.

3. (NR) Oakleaf (16-8, Class 6A)

Notable wins: Anderson County (Tenn.), Bishop Kenny, Clay, Fleming Island, North Florida Christian, Orange Park, St. Johns Country Day, Trinity Christian, Union County, West Nassau.

Glance: The Knights have an excellent resume, with Ws over the top two teams in the Super 6. They’ve won six straight. Only three losses have come to local teams. They have a tough, tough draw in the District 3-6A tournament, opening up with First Coast on Monday. From there, it’s Buchholz or Nease in the semis and likely Tocoi Creek or Fleming Island in the final. Not an easy path at all. JP Espinosa (.370, 14 RBI) leads the offense and Landon McDonald (4-1, 0.93 ERA, 45.1 IP, 46 Ks) headlines the Oakleaf arms.

4. (NR) Bishop Snyder (17-7, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Christ’s Church, Episcopal, Father Lopez, Fernandina Beach, Mobile Christian (Ala.), Oak Hall, Providence, Trinity Catholic, West Nassau.

Glance: The Cardinals enter the District 2-3A tournament on a tear, winners of an area-best eight straight. They face a quality Baldwin teams in the semis on Tuesday and very likely No. 2 Trinity Christian in the final. Snyder is set up very nicely for the future, too. Tristan Silver (.405, 14 RBI) leads the team at the plate and he’s a freshman. Cody Boshell (.338, 2 HR, 20 RBI), Josh Jordan (.321), Ilias Mamea (.317) and Jack Perry (.316) are all sophomores. Hurler Aidan King is a Florida signee and one of the top arms around. He’s whiffed 107 in 55.1 IP and has walked just six all season.

5. (3) Bolles (18-7, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Christ School (NC), Englewood (twice), Episcopal, Fernandina Beach, Montverde, Oxford (Ala.), Providence, St. Joseph, Yulee.

Glance: A hot and cold week for the Bulldogs, with a blowout loss to Bishop Kenny (11-1) and St. Johns Country Day (7-1) and wins over St. Joseph (11-3) and Englewood (5-0). Chayce Kieck is hitting .394 in 33 at-bats. Jackson Geist (.364) and Spencer Stephens (.342, 3 HR) follow. Kieck (6-2, 1.55 ERA, 49.2 IP, 49 Ks) and David Martin (7-1, 68 Ks, 45 IP, 1.09 ERA) front a very good pitching staff.

6. (5) Bishop Kenny (16-8, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Atlantic Coast, Clay, Fernandina Beach, St. Joseph, St. Augustine, Sandalwood, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: Kenny had an up and down week, diming rival Bolles (11-1), getting dimed by St. Johns (11-1) and then losing to Episcopal (6-5). Such has been the case for teams in the 5-6 range, where big Ws have been replaced by unbelievable losses. Kenny is the top seed for the District 3-4A tournament and should coast into the final against Yulee or Paxon. Owen Delaney (.456, 20 RBI), Franco Chaluja (.352, 13 RBI), Cole Dennis (.345, 2 HR, 17 RBI) and Colin Ulrich (.338, 18 RBI) lead the Crusaders. Really considered University Christian for this spot. UC is on the warpath right now.
