This Week in Jacksonville: Business Edition: The integration of AI and preserving the human element

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Artificial intelligence is the hot topic of the year.

The rapid evolution of AI clashes with some assumptions, including the thought that real humans may not be needed for problem-solving.

This episode of This Week in Jacksonville: Business Edition attacked that notion through a conversation with a recognized thought leader in product development and strategy.

“I think the big headline for me is that it’s here, it’s time to lean in and start to learn about what artificial intelligence or large language models can actually do for you,” Gib Olander said.

Olander is CPO and Business Strategist at Northwest Registered Agent.

Olander pointed to the ways AI has affected everything from health care to environmental analysts. An AI tool even passed the bar exam.

“The fact that these high-level ideas are able to be tackled by artificial intelligence today is really exciting,” Olander said. “And so it’s not the time to turn away, it’s the time to lean in, and to learn how you can harness technology to improve things in your world.”

Will AI make the need for human connection obsolete? Olander doesn’t think so.

“I don’t think we are at a phase where we have to worry about your job being replaced tomorrow. I think we’re at a phase in time where artificial intelligence is going to augment our abilities.”

In this episode, we tackle some of these topics:

  • How do you keep your business data safe and secure in the age of AI?
  • In an increasingly automated world, why do you need to prioritize personal, genuine interactions?
  • What are the long-term strategies for integrating AI while preserving the human element in business?
